Australia's South32 records 55% surge in annual profit Aug 27 (Reuters) - Australia's South32 S32.AX on Thursday posted a 55% rise in full-year profit as the diversified miner benefited from a surge in underlying commodity prices and strong operating performance.
South32, the world's biggest manganese producer, reported underlying earnings attributable of $1.03 billion for the year ended June 30, compared with $666 million in the prior year.
That slightly missed Visible Alpha's consensus estimate of $1.05 billion.
