Australia's St Barbara hits 3-month high on upbeat qtrly gold production

** Shares of gold miner St Barbara  SBM.AX  rise as much as
9.2% to A$0.2075, their highest level since Jan. 2 
    ** Co produces 17,257 ounces of gold in 3Q, higher than
12,969 ounces produced in 2Q
    ** Says co's Q3 gold production from Simberi operations in
Papua New Guinea was 33% higher than previous qtr
    ** About 5.9 mln shares change hand compared to 30-day
average trading volume of 5.1 mln shares 
    ** Stock down 9.5% this year as of last close
