** Gold miner says Papua New Guinea government received required documents to approve extension of co's Simberi mining lease until 2038

** Co progressing talks with PNG officials to resolve tax issues, which were filed in 2024

** Adds mining lease extension can move forward once tax issue settled

** Around 19.4 mln shares traded, ~2.8x the 30-day avg

** YTD, SBM jumps 108.9%
