WASHINGTON, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Major automakers will save more than $35 billion in technology costs through 2031 under a broad rollback of vehicle fuel economy standards proposed on Wednesday, the Trump administration said.
General Motors GM.N would save $8.7 billion from 2027 through 2031, while Ford F.N and Chrysler-parent Stellantis STLAM.MI would each save more than $5 billion, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. Hyundai 005380.KS would save $4.6 billion, Subaru 7270.T $3.8 billion and Toyota 7203.T $2.3 billion, it said.
