JAKARTA, July 29 (Reuters) - Jabar Environmental Solutions, a joint venture of Sumitomo Corporation, Hitachi Zosen and a subsidiary of United Tractors, broke ground on its waste-to-energy project in Indonesia's West Java province on Wednesday.
Here are the details:
The Legok Nangka waste-to-energy project will have 40.79 megawatts of installed capacity, deputy energy minister Yuliot Tanjung said in a livestreamed ground breaking ceremony.
The project involves a total investment of $400 million and would process 2,100 metric tons of municipal waste per day to generate power.
Construction is expected to take 41 months with a targeted commercial operation date of late 2029, Yuliot said.
A public-private partnership scheme is involved in the financing.
The project is part of the Asia Zero Emission Community.
