TOKYO, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Bank 8306.T, Sumitomo Mitsui Bank 8316.T and Mizuho Bank 8411.T plan to provide loans to chipmaker Rapidus totalling up to about 2 trillion yen ($12.83 billion), Jiji Press reported on Thursday.
Financing is expected to begin from fiscal year 2027 and be carried out in stages, Jiji reported, adding the banks had submitted letters of intent outlining loan conditions.
The banks will finalise the actual loan amount and terms with Rapidus and the government, Jiji added.
