Summit Midstream approves Double E pipeline expansion backed by new shipper contracts Aug 31 (Reuters) - Pipeline operator Summit Midstream SMC.N said on Monday its Double E Pipeline joint venture reached a final investment decision on a mainline compression expansion after securing new long-term transportation commitments.
Here are more details:
The commitments include a 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) deal with an investment-grade shipper.
The project will add about 900 MMcf/d of forward-haul capacity to the Waha hub and is expected to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2028.
Double E secured 550 MMcf/d of binding take-or-pay commitments during its open season, raising total contracted firm capacity to about 2.2 billion cubic feet per day.
The pipeline operator added it remains in talks with shippers for the remaining 450 MMcf/d of expansion capacity.
Summit expects to invest about $100 million for its 70% stake in the project.
