Aug 27 (Reuters) - Suncor Energy Inc SU.TO: AS OF SEPTEMBER 1, THERE WILL BE PLANNED EQUIPMENT SHUTDOWNS FOR MAINTENANCE WORK THAT WILL CONTINUE FOR A PERIOD OF SIX WEEKS AT MONTREAL REFINERY WORK IS PART OF OUR REGULAR REFINERY MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR PLAN TO ENSURE SAFE AND RELIABLE OPERATION DURING THIS PERIOD, FLARE WILL BE USED AS NEEDED, AND ITS USE MAY BE MORE NOTICEABLE AT CERTAIN TIMES DURING THE WORK REFINERY CAPACITY: 137,000 BARRELS PER DAY ((Reuters.Briefs@thomsonreuters.com))
