** Synertec Corporation SOP.AX rises as much as 16% to A$0.029, highest since April 23

** Technology and engineering firm enters into framework agreement with Sydney Water Corporation and is appointed to the government body's SCADA and Electrical Services panel

** Says appointment gives it access to A$245 mln ($157.1 mln) in water-related project work over the next five years

** About 1.8 million shares traded vs the 30-day avg of 1.5 mln

** SOP last up 8%, trimming YTD losses to 52.7%
