Australia's Synertec soars 24% on securing purchase orders from Santos

** Shares of Synertec Corporation Ltd  SOP.AX  jump as much
as 24.4% to A$0.255, on track for best day since Aug. 8, if
trend holds 
    ** Construction and engineering firm says Santos Ltd
 STO.AX  intends to proceed with further commercial orders of
co’s powerhouse technology for its Gladstone liquefied natural
gas joint venture 
    ** Co says its powerhouse units are expected to be deployed
to greenfield well sites in Queensland
    ** Synertec stock hits highest since June 6
    ** More than 1.3 mln shares of Synertec change hands, 6
times the 30-day average volume 
    ** Stock down 18% this year, as of last close
    ** Santos' shares jump as much as 4% to A$7.645, set to gain
most since June 16, if gains hold
