Talen Energy down on Q2 profit fall

** Shares of utility Talen Energy TLN.O fall 1.3% to $373.70

** Company reports fall in Q2 profit, hurt by higher energy purchase costs and maintenance expenses associated with a refueling outage at its Susquehanna nuclear facility

** It posts net income of $72 million, or $1.50 per share in Q2, compared with $454 million, or $7.60 per share, a year earlier

** It paid a total of $252 million for energy expenses in Q2, compared with $176 million a year ago

** Operation, maintenance and development expenses rose 17% to $192 million in Q2

** Including session's moves, TLN shares up 85.3% YTD
