Oct 29 (Reuters) - India's southern city of Hyderabad will add 60 to 70 global capability centres (GCCs) or offshore tech hubs of multinational companies in 2027, according to a report by consultant ANSR.
Here are more details:
Banking and financial services firms will set up 30% of the new GCCs in the city, ANSR said
ANSR has helped multinational firms such as Costco COST.O, Marriott MAR.O and Target TGT.N to set up centres in India over the years
The consultancy, which counts global IT company Accenture Plc ACN.N as an investor, said Hyderabad is the preferred choice over the southern city of Bengaluru, the capital of the state of Karnataka, for new tech hubs, despite the latter having highest number of such centres in the country
Hyderabad has more than 500 GCCs, according to a Telangana government press release issued last month, while Bengaluru has over 1,100 GCCs, the Karnataka state government said in July
