UK's Tate & Lyle climbs after better-than-expected half-year results

** Food ingredients maker Tate & Lyle's TATE.L shares up 4.6% at 395p; among top gainers on FTSE mid 250 Index  .FTMC

** TATE reported HY core profit of 215 million pounds, beating expectations of 209 million pounds, as per Goodbody Stockbrokers analysts

** Goodbody analyst Patrick Higgins said that with expectations already lowered after the October profit warning, today’s better-than-feared H1 results and reiterated FY26 outlook should offer some relief

** Co continues to expect revenue and EBITDA to decline by low-single-digit percent compared to the prior year

** Up to last close, stock has fallen 39% so far this year
