** Indian shares rise after recent drop; benchmarks Nifty 50 .NSEI and Sensex .BSESN up 0.3% and 0.7%, after posting their longest weekly losing run in six years in the previous session 
** Markets remain cautious-to-neutral as recent recovery attempts lack support, said Hitesh Tailor, technical research analyst at Choice Broking, adding that consolidation and intermittent profit-taking are likely to persist
** Twelve of the 16 major sectors advance; broader small-caps .NIFSMCP100 and mid-caps .NIFMDCP100 flat
** Crude LCOc1 eases 1.8% but remains elevated at $102 a barrel, while tighter monetary conditions and an IPO rush weigh on sentiment, two traders say
** Heavyweights HDFC Bank HDBK.NS and Reliance RELI.NS gain 1.2% and 0.7%, respectively
** Among stocks, Tega Industries TEGA.NS jumps 7.3% after winning an order worth 1.26 billion rupees
** Leap India LEAP.NS rises 3% after UBS starts coverage with "buy"
** Welspun Corp WGSR.NS gains 2.3% after its unit wins an order from Saudi Aramco 2223.SE worth $209 million
