MILAN, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Italy awarded all the 10 gigawatt-hours of battery storage capacity it tendered in its first-ever auction, recording an average price of around 13,000 euros per megawatt hour, the chief executive of grid operator Terna TRN.MI said on Wednesday.
The auction marks a key step in the country's push to integrate more renewable energy into its grid.
Italy's energy authority set a cap of 37,000 euros per MWh for the tender.
