APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Board of Thor Mining Plc ("Thor" or the "Company") (AIM, ASX: THR), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gervaise Heddle as a Non-Executive Director of the Company, with immediate effect.
Sydney-based Mr Heddle is an experienced investor and market commentator, an Executive Director of Greatland Gold PLC and the Founder and Managing Director of Bletchley Economics, through which he provides investment consulting services. Mr Heddle was a Division Director of Macquarie Bank and a Fund Manager and Director at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. Gervaise is a CFA charterholder and has extensive financial markets experience.
Mr Heddle currently holds no interest in the ordinary share capital, or other securities, of Thor.
Mr Mick Billing, Executive Chairman of Thor commented: "Gervaise Heddle adds significant commercial and finance sector depth to the board of Thor. We look forward to his contribution as our Company moves towards the development of its projects."
Award of director options
As part of the terms of his engagement, and subject to approval at the next General Meeting of shareholders, Mr Heddle and each of the existing directors of Thor, will be awarded options over 100 million ordinary shares of 0.01 pence each in the capital of the Company, with an exercise price of 0.05 pence, expiring 3 years from the date of this announcement.
