Europe Distillates-Diesel refining margins come off record highs

LONDON, Sept 17 (Reuters) - European diesel margins fell by nearly 3% on Thursday, off of their record highs on a lower oil price and stocks holding steady. 
Low-sulphur gasoil futures LGOc1 traded at $86.66 a barrel above Brent crude futures LCOc1 at 1657 GMT, $2.58 lower than the previous close. It hit an all-time high of $91.67 a barrel in the previous session.
Gasoil and diesel stocks held largely steady in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage hub at 1.65 million tons with no imports. However, eight cargoes were expected to offload by the end of the month. ARA/
Union Pacific on Wednesday said soaring diesel prices were prompting some shippers to move freight from trucks to rail.
French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu has asked ministers to extend targeted support for sectors hit hard by surging fuel prices until the end of the year.
Meanwhile, EU-27 and UK diesel and gasoil imports averaged 817,000 barrels per day into September so far, Kpler data shows - its highest since March this year - compared to an average of 731,000 bpd in August.
