Australia's Transurban Group soars on upbeat quarterly traffic growth

** Shares of Transurban Group TCL.AX rise as much as 2.5% to A$13.98, their highest level since September 4
** Set to clock its best session since June 10
** The toll-road operator posts group average daily traffic growth of 3.1% in the first quarter
** Says growth was underpinned by essential nature of co's urban transport assets, with more than 90% of revenue CPI-linked or subject to fixed escalators and inflation impacts flowing through over a period of up to 18 months
** Down ~2% YTD
