UK Stocks-Factors to watch on April 1 (updated)

Adds new items, updates futures

April 1 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.54%.

* MOTOR FINANCE: Major banks like Close Brothers CBRO.L, Lloyds LLOY.L and Barclays BARC.L will be watching an appeal over motor finance commissions, which begins at the UK's Supreme Court today, as the CMA considers a scheme to compensate consumers.

        * GAS: Global gas giants like ShellSHEL.L, Exxon Mobil XOM.N and Chevron CVX.N said a proposal by Australia's opposition that would force producers to direct more export gas into the domestic market would deter investment without tackling looming shortages.

        * TRAVIS PERKINS: Travis Perkins TPK.L said that the pace of an overall recovery in construction activity remained uncertain, after it posted a 23% drop in 2024 profit.

        * SERICA ENERGY: Serica Energy SQZ.L lowered its outlook for 2025 total production, pressured by production delays.

* HOUSE PRICES: British house prices were flat in March and the market is likely to stay soft after a tax increase on property transactions, mortgage lender Nationwide said.

* ASTON MARTIN: Aston Martin AML.L team owner Lawrence Stroll said the brand will be in Formula One for decades to come.

* RIO TINTO: Norges Bank Investment Management will vote against Rio Tinto's RIO.AX, RIO.L resolution to review its dual-listing, its website showed.

* GLENCORE: Members of Indigenous communities blocked access to Glencore's GLEN.L Antapaccay copper mine in Peru.

* COMMODITIES: Oil prices inched higher, gold prices hit a record peak and copper prices in London rose.
