                                                                   General Provincial Life Pension Fund Limited  ("GPLPFL") and Union Mutual

                                                            Pension Fund Limited ("UMPFL") have merged, with GPLPFL being the continuing
                                                                   entity.  As a result, all of the ordinary shares of the issuer that were
                                                                   owned by UMPFL are now owned by GPLPFL.

                                                                   Mr Saville's aggregate interest in UIL Limited's ordinary shares is unchanged
                                                                   as a result of this transaction and comprises the following holdings:

                                                                   The ultimate parent undertaking of GPLPFL, UMPFL and PML is Somers Isles
                                                                   Private Trust Company Limited ("SIPTCL") as trustee of various trusts of
                                                                   which Mr Saville is the beneficiary. Mr Saville is the owner of SIPTCL.
