Uniper expects drought to extend into second half of 2026
Uniper expects drought to extend into second half of 2026 FRANKFURT, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Uniper UN0k.DE saw generation at its German hydroelectric plants fall in the first half due to low water levels that have impacted Germany's economy, warning the situation might remain tense in the remainder of the year.
Low water levels "in the Danube and Main river basins" caused German hydro generation to fall by 6% to 1.75 terawatt-hours in the first half. Drought also impacted Uniper's Swedish hydro stations.
