** Shares in French vaccines company Valneva VLS.PA slump 11% after on Saturday the French health authorities suspended the use of its chikungunya vaccine IXCHIQ in persons aged 65 years and older
** The Health agency had updated its recommendation following reports of three Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) in elderly people with co-morbidities resulting in hospitalization, including one death, during the ongoing vaccination campaign in La Reunion and Mayotte
** "It is difficult to draw any conclusions about the occurrence of these undesirable effects, which occurred in very elderly people with co-morbidities and whose correlation with vaccination has not yet been established," Portzamparc analysts said
** The broker underlines the recommendation from the Health authority is unchanged for the 16-65 years old, with the vaccination campaign still under way for these group
** Shares in Valneva, on track for their worst day in three weeks, are at the bottom of France's SBF120 .SBF120 index
