Vanda rises after FDA accepts application to review rare skin disease drug

** Shares of  Vanda Pharmaceuticals VNDA.O up 5.39% at $8.61 premarket

** Drugmaker says the U.S. FDA accepted its application to review imsidolimab, a drug for the treatment of generalized pustular psoriasis, a rare condition causing painful skin pustules, fever and fatigue

** Co adds that single dose of the drug cleared symptoms in over 50% of patients in trials vs. 13% in the placebo group

** Says long-term patients had no new flare-ups — sudden returns of painful skin symptoms — for up to two years

** FDA decision expected by December 12 - VNDA

** VNDA shares rose 84% in 2025
