Australia's Vertex Minerals rises on Hill End gold mine progress in NSW

** Shares of Vertex Minerals  VTX.AX  rise as much as 4.8%
to A$0.11, set for best session since April 28, if gains hold
    ** Co says refurbishment of the Hill End processing plant in
New South Wales is near completion
    ** Expects to start commissioning activities next month
    ** Says once commissioning activities are completed, co
plans to recover gold from stockpiles adjacent to the processing
plant
    ** Stock down ~16% so far this year, as of last close
