Viridien shares rise after sharp increase in orders
BUZZ-Viridien shares rise after sharp increase in orders ** Shares in Viridien VIRI.PA rise 12.5% after the French geoscience company reported a sharp rise in orders, signalling a pick-up in client spending
** Its geoscience backlog climbed 33% q/q to $306 million, following contract wins in the Gulf of Mexico, Africa and the Middle East
** AlphaValue calls the backlog "the clearest positive signal" in the results and says it shows "commercial discussions are finally converting into firm orders"
** The broker says the orders are a "leading indicator" of a recovery, but most of the associated revenue is expected in 2027 rather than this year
** The stock is on track for its best day in three months
