** Shares of Viridis Mining and Minerals VMM.AX rise as much as 19% to A$1.190, their highest level since July 5, 2024

** Gold explorer secured firm commitments to raise A$11.5 million via placement

** Placement follows VMM's binding memorandum of understanding with Brazilian investors to fast-track development of Colossus Project in Brazil through final investment decision and early execution

** About 1.4 mln shares traded, 1.8x the 30-day avg

** YTD, stock has more than tripled in value
