Vontobel CFO Heinzl to become CEO of Luxembourg-based Quintet

ZURICH, Dec 16 (Reuters) - Thomas Heinzl, CFO of Swiss bank Vontobel VONN.S is standing down to become CEO of the Luxembourg-based Quintet Private Bank from the second quarter of 2026, according to statements put out by the companies on Tuesday.

Heinzl, 55, succeeds Chris Allen, who has led Quintet since 2022 and is stepping down at the end of March 2026. Quintet, which operates in Germany under the Merck Finck brand, manages more than 100 billion euros ($117 billion) in client assets.

Vontobel said Heinzl had resigned with immediate effect, with interim responsibilities for the bank's finance and risk operations split between Jan Marxfeld and Esther Bruegger. A permanent successor will be announced in due course, it added.

Heinzl, who had been Vontobel CFO since 2020, previously worked at UBS UBSG.S and consultancy McKinsey, Quintet said.
