Australia's WAM Research hits over 4.5 mnth high on half-year results

** Shares of WAM Research  WAX.AX  rise as much as 3.1% to
A$1.15, their highest level since Oct. 2, 2023
    ** Brokerage services company posts its half-year net profit
from ordinary activities after income tax expenses at A$15.1
million ($9.92 million), up 72.9% from last year
    ** WAX declared interim dividend of 5.0 AU cents per share
    ** About 274,200 shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of 144,924 shares
    ** Stock up 10.6% so far this year, as of last close
