Wartsila falls, analyst points to disappointment over mid-term goal
BUZZ-Wartsila falls, analyst points to disappointment over mid-term goal ** Shares in Wartsila WRT1V.HE fall 8% after the Finnish industrial company provided its new mid-term goals and posted Q3 numbers
** Wartsila targets annual organic sales in its Energy division to grow in high-teens annually, which OP analyst Jussi Mikkonen says may miss expectations
** "The key driver for the shares is what margins could Energy achieve in the longer run and if the data centre cycle continues, many have expected margins above 20%", Mikkonen says
** The analyst also points out that the timing of the targets was not disclosed as the mid-term was not specified
** Wartsila's orders in the quarter rose by a third to €2.37 billion ($2.64 billion), helped by data centre related contracts in Energy and beating an average estimate of €2.06 billion
** JPMorgan analysts say however, that the order beat was expected due to backdated orders in Energy and should not be surprising
** Wartsila shares, set for their worst day since October 2024, are among top fallers on STOXX 600 .STOXX
