Webuild's revenue guidance disappoints, shares down (updated)

Recasts with market reaction in lede and paragraphs 4-5

March 12 (Reuters) - Italy's largest construction company Webuild WBD.MI on Thursday reported an 18% rise in its 2025 core profit but disappointing 2026 revenue guidance caused its stock to fall as much as 10.4%.

The company said its 2025 core profit (EBITDA) totaled 1.16 billion euros ($1.34 billion). Full-year adjusted net profit rose 13% to 280 million euros, with revenue growing 15% to 13.6 billion euros.

On a call with analysts following the results, CEO Pietro Salini: "We are not giving precise targets for 2026, not because we see risks, but because, given the uncertain situation, I believe it would be unprofessional to do so."

The company's shares fell to their lowest levels since the end of 2024 dragged by the "vague" 2026 guidance for revenue in line with this year, according to analyst Matteo Bonizzoni at brokerage Kepler Cheuvreux.

The analyst added that the company's exposure to the Middle East was "not beneficial".

MIDDLE EAST BUSINESS PROCEEDING NORMALLY

Webuild confirmed that its Middle East activities were proceeding normally and its group and subcontractor personnel were safe.

Webuild proposed an annual dividend of 0.081 euros per ordinary shares, while 0.26 euros per savings shares.

Its 2025 order backlog stood at 58.4 billion euros.
