West African Resources tops gains on ASX 200 after approval of mining permit

** Shares of gold miner West African Resources Ltd  WAF.AX 
rise as much as 6.3% to A$1.275, their highest since Jan. 24 
    ** Stock is top gainer on the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index
 .AXJO  
    ** Co says Burkina Faso Council of Ministers recommended
approval for the issue of a mining permit for the Toega gold
deposit in West Africa
    ** Says the mining licence will cover a period of 8-years
    ** Shares on track for their biggest intraday pct gain since
March 25
    ** WAF set to post three straight days of gains 
    ** More than 5 mln shares change hands as compared with the
30-day average volume of ~3.3 mln shares  
    ** Stock up 27% this year as of last close, vs a 4.0%
increase in AXJO
