Australia's West Cobar Metals climbs on resource upgrade at rare-earths project

** Shares of West Cobar Metals  WC1.AX  rise as much as
81.3% to A$0.145, their highest level since March 30
    ** The mineral explorer says mineral resource at its Salazar
clay hosted rare-earths element (REE) project in Western
Australia has quadrupled
    ** Says the increased resources are based on the Phase I air
core drilling programme 
    ** About 7.4 mln shares change hands, 89.8 times the 30-day
average of 82,348 shares
    ** Stock down 52.9% this year, as of last close
