Singapore's Wilmar posts 23% fall in first-quarter profit on hedging losses amid Iran war
April 29 (Reuters) - Singapore-listed Wilmar International WLIL.SI reported a 23% fall in first-quarter core net profit on Wednesday, driven by temporary unrealised mark-to-market losses on hedging positions arising from market volatility linked to the Iran conflict. The food conglomerate posted a core net profit of $264.2 million for the three months ended March 31, down from $343 million a year earlier.
