** Oil prices climb 8% to above $100 as the U.S. prepared a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following failure to reach deal on Iran war

** Oil and gas producer Karoon Energy KAR.AX jumps as much as 9% to be the top percent gainer on the Australian benchmark S&P/ASX 200 .AXJO, which is down 0.4%

** Beach Energy BPT.AX up 6.2%, Woodside Energy WDS.AX jumps 3.6%

** AXEJ up 33.5%, YTD
