August 14 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on Friday:
     
** U.S.-based Diversified Energy DEC.N said on Friday it is in early discussions to acquire privately held Birch Resources, as it looks to further expand into the oil and gas-rich Permian Basin. nL6N44B0GG
     
** Private equity firm Silver Lake is in talks to acquire Workday WDAY.O in a deal that would rank among the largest software buyouts in history, according to people familiar with the matter. nL6N44A1AH
     
** Brazil's Seneca Group, an independent M&A and debt capital markets advisory firm, announced on Thursday it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of local Banco Nacional de Investimentos. nL1N44A149
