** Shares of Australia's XRF Scientific XRF.AX rise as much as 4.5% to A$1.985, their highest level since February 18

** Stock rose nearly 5% on Wednesday after co posted a 10.7% rise in March-quarter profit before tax to A$3.7 million ($2.64 million)

** More than 347,000 shares change hands, 2x the 30-day avg

** Stock down 5.6% YTD
