Appointment of Sonita Alleyne as a Non-Executive Director

 

The Board of Young's is pleased to announce the appointment of Sonita Alleyne
as a Non-Executive Director with effect from the end of the Annual General
Meeting, to be held on Tuesday, 7(th) July 2026.

 

Sonita is currently a Non-Executive Director of Wickes Group Plc, where she
sits on the audit and risk, nominations and remuneration committees. Sonita
chairs Wickes' Responsible Business Committee. She is also the current Master
of Jesus College, Cambridge.

 

Sonita has extensive experience as a non-executive director on both private
and public sector boards. She was a member of the Council of Management of the
British Board of Film Classification from 2009 to 2019, holding the roles of
Chair of the Council of Management in 2019 and Chair of the Remuneration
Committee from 2016 to 2019.  She was Chair of the Radio Sector Skills
Council from 2008 to 2012; Non-Executive Director of Archant from 2012 to
2016; and a Trustee of the BBC Trust from 2012 to 2017.

 

In addition, Sonita was a Non-Executive Director of the Department for
Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and a member of the National Employment
Panel and the London Skills and Employment Board. In her earlier media career,
Sonita was the Co-Founder and the former CEO of the production company
Somethin' Else. During this time, she worked as a journalist and broadcaster
and was awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting in 2003.

 

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule
6.4.8R in relation to Sonita Alleyne's appointment to the board.
