Japan's Zeon freezes US battery materials production plan

TOKYO, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Japanese chemicals company
Zeon 4205.T said on Friday it was pausing plans to invest in a
production line at its factory in Texas for materials used in
batteries.
The decision to freeze investment for around two years was
due to factors including uncertainty for the sector following
the election of President Donald Trump, a company spokesperson
said.
Zeon had previously planned to begin production of battery
binders used in lithium-ion batteries in 2026.
