In this live event our Head of Content, Megan Boxall, was joined by Ed Croft and Graham Neary to discuss their stock ideas for 2025.

The factors driving markets both in the UK and internationally were front and sector of the discussion. Will the domestic markets continue to be held back by negative sentiment? Or will the UK benefit from the same kind of momentum surges being experienced by the US? And talking of America, how can investors apply the fundamentals of quality and value when they’re looking for stateside stocks?

The panel also looked at the sector trends they expect in the coming year. Artificial intelligence has been a hot topic of 2024, but can it continue in the new year and how can private investors benefit? Graham Neary began his career as a technical analyst, working on the fixed income and futures markets for hedge funds and investment bank traders. He then moved over to the buyside where he gained his CFA qualification and learned how to manage equities and fixed income portfolios for a large institution. He's been a full-time stock market analyst and investor since 2009, with the exception of one 'year out', which he used to study Mandarin in China.
