Biography
I worked for 3 years at a small private client stockbroker before joining Friends Provident investments, later taken over by F&C, where I stayed for 30 years before I retired in 2014. My main job was to manage the ethical funds (called Stewardship) although I also helped manage other funds and worked in the multi asset team for the last few years where I did a lot of written research on economic and financial matters on a global basis.Investment strategy
Although I am retired I follow financial markets closely and actively manage my savings. I am a 'value' investor but am also a strong believer in behavioral finance and take macro economic factors into consideration in making investment decisions. I generally have a barbell approach with safer larger companies providing most of my dividend income to help finance my retirement while seeking capital growth with exciting smaller companies.
