UA Zensen, an umbrella group representing retail, restaurant and other industry unions, said its members had received an average 5.37% increase in monthly wages for full-time workers. Part-timers gained a 6.53% hike.
The results compared with last year's average 5.91% increase for full-time workers and 6.45% for part-timers.
The group had set a target of achieving a 6% increase for full-time workers and 7% for part-timers this year.
