Arc Minerals (LSE: ARCM), an exploration company focused on discovering and developing Tier 1 copper deposits in Africa, is pleased to publish its quarterly investor update.
OVERVIEW
· Geophysical surveys completed in Botswana, inferring 18 kilometres ("km") of prospective contact between the D'Kar Formation and Ngwako Pan Formation ("DKF-NPF contact")
· Drilling activities at the Virgo project ("Virgo") started, with three holes completed to date along the DKF-NPF contact
· Dual-track strategy at Kabompo West in Zambia moving to an advanced stage with active discussions taking place on a number of fronts
· Early work planned at the greenfield Mpongwe project in Zambia
· Half-year results published, showing liquidity of more than £2.8 million as at 30 June 2026
Rémy Welschinger, CEO of Arc Minerals, commented: "We have moved to an important stage both in Botswana and Zambia. At the Virgo project, the ambitious drilling campaign has now started and is progressing well. In Zambia, we are moving the dual strategy at the Kabompo project to an advanced phase with a number of active discussions being pursued"
Corporate Update
During the quarter, Arc Minerals published its unaudited financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2026, which showed the Company in a strong liquidity position going into the drilling campaign at the Virgo project in Botswana. As at 30 June, Arc held cash of £1,861,000 and short-term investments of £504,000, with a further £520,000 held in cash at the Handa group (restricted as of June but restored in September), giving total liquidity of approximately £2.89 million.
In August, Brian McMaster resigned as non-executive director of the board of Arc.
Botswana - Virgo
Significant progress was made during the quarter at the Virgo Project in Botswana's highly prospective Kalahari Copper Belt. The Company completed its geophysical programme and data interpretation, inferring 18km of prospective DKF-NPF contact within the licence and enabling the Company to define priority drill targets along this horizon.
Drilling at the Virgo Project has commenced in early September, with one diamond core drilling rig on site. Three holes have been completed to date along the DKF-NPF contact. The programme is progressing well, and the Company looks forward to updating shareholders as results become available. The Company expects the total drilling campaign to exceed 6,000 metres. The phased drill programme is being carried out by G D E Botswana Drilling & Exploration Pty Ltd ("Global Drill"), a reputable drilling contractor with extensive experience in the Kalahari Copper Belt.
The renewal applications for licences PL135/2017 and PL162/2017 in Botswana are expected to be approved shortly with good engagement with the relevant authorities to date. The Company will update shareholders accordingly.
Virgo remains the only junior-held licence package within MMG's highly prospective Zone 5 Corridor.
Zambia - Kabompo West
Following the comprehensive Settlement Agreement reached in the previous quarter in Zambia, the Company has been able to focus fully on developing the project's long-term potential.
The dual-track strategy at Kabompo West has now moved to an advanced stage. This strategy combines advanced discussions with a shortlist of large mining companies regarding potential strategic partnerships along with a comprehensive review of the project's extensive geological, geophysical and drilling database, including the application of AI-assisted geological interpretation to complement traditional exploration techniques. The Company looks forward to updating shareholders on those strategic matters in due course.
The Board believes that Kabompo West remains one of the largest and most prospective exploration land packages within Zambia's Western Domes region.
Zambia - Mpongwe
In addition, the Company holds a large-scale exploration licence (41260-HQ-LEL), in Zambia's Copperbelt Province, covering approximately 25,725 hectares (c.257 km²). The licence, granted in November 2025, is held by Foreland Minerals Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Arc Minerals.
Basal conglomerate units have been mapped within the licence area, which is considered encouraging given their association with sedimentary sequences known to host stratiform copper-cobalt mineralisation elsewhere in the Central African Copperbelt. The Company would like to stress that Mpongwe is a greenfield project, and Its potential has yet to be established.
The Company is preparing an initial early-stage exploration programme, focused on geochemical surveying. The Company expects to provide further details in due course.
