** Shares of Australia's Ballard Mining BM1.AX fall as much as 7.7% to A$0.660, their biggest intraday pct fall since September 15 
** Stock hits its lowest level since September 16
** Gold explorer to raise A$45 million ($31.42 million) via placement at an issue price of A$0.66 per share
** Issue price at a 7.7% discount to the stock's last closing price on October 7
** Funds will be used to advance the Mount Ida gold project in Western Australia
** YTD stock down 4.3% including day's moves
