** Shares of the Australian lithium explorer Balkan Mining
and Minerals  BMM.AX  jump as much as 9.1% to A$0.180, on track
for their sharpest single-day pct gain since June 23 
    ** Co secures an exclusive option to acquire 100% of Gorge
Lithium project in Ontario, Canada  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nFWN2YI1A4
    ** Says the project is prospective for spodumene pegmatite,
a form of lithium mineral
    ** Stock down 66% this year, as of last close, vs a 10.8%
decrease in the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index  .AXJO
