    WAGES 
    Romania's National Statistics Board to release March average 
wage data at 0700 GMT. 
       
    INTEREST RATES 
    Romania's central bank surprised markets by shaving another 
quarter point off its benchmark interest rate ROINTR=ECI to a 
new record low on Wednesday, as a cut in value added tax next

    POLITICS 
    Romania's ruling Social Democrat party (PSD) will seal a new 
partnership with a junior ally on Thursday, looking to secure 
its grip on power before a national election in 2016, party

    Romanian lender BRD Groupe Societe Generale  ROBRD.BX  said 
on Wednesday its first quarter consolidated net profit was 2.9 
times higher on the year, at 140 million lei ($35.46 million).

    Romania's state-owned nuclear power producer 
Nuclearelectrica ROSNN.BX said on Wednesday it will shut down 
its second reactor at midnight on May 8 for routine maintenance

    Central European currencies should recover soon from their 
recent fall if European government bond markets stabilise, a May
