Wall Street's main indexes struggled for direction on Friday, as investors
avoided big bets and assessed fresh data to gauge the health of the economy,
while Boeing dipped after warning of a bigger-than-expected quarterly loss.  .N 
    
At 13:30 EST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.21% at
44,469.92. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.22% at 6,105.19, and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.36% at 19,981.48.
