Statement regarding report from Viceroy Research

Close Brothers Group plc ("Close Brothers" or the "Company") notes the
publication of the research report by Viceroy Research (the "Report") this
afternoon.

Close Brothers strongly disagrees with the Report, which relates to the
Company's approach to provisioning in respect of motor finance commissions and
resulting impact on its capital position. Our provisioning approach in
relation to this matter is in accordance with UK-adopted international
accounting standards and follows a robust governance process.

Close Brothers will release its half year results to 31 January 2026 on
Tuesday, 17 March, alongside a business update. We look forward to updating
the market on our financial performance and the business, strategy and market
opportunity for our three lending divisions.
