UK Stocks-Factors to watch on April 27

April 27 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Monday, with futuresFFIc1 down 0.11%.

* CLOSE BROTHERS: Close Brothers CBRO.L have decided not to launch a legal challenge against the UK financial regulator's 9.1 billion pound ($12.31 billion) compensation scheme for consumers who were allegedly mis-sold car finance, Sky News reported on Saturday.

 * Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust: Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust EWI.L said on Friday it will provide shareholders with exit opportunities if they vote against an activist investor's attempt to take control of the board at the annual general meeting on April 30.

* INTERTEK: British product testing firm Intertek ITRK.L rejected a revised takeover bid of 54 pounds per share from Swedish private equity group EQT AB EQTAB.ST on Friday, saying the proposal fundamentally undervalued the company and its prospects.

* GOLD: Gold edged higher on Monday, supported by a softer dollar as a report of a new proposal by Iran to end the war with the U.S. raised hopes of a de-escalation in the Middle East conflict.

* OIL: Oil prices were up more than 1% on Monday as peace talks between the U.S. and Iran stalled while shipments through the Strait of Hormuz remained limited, keeping global oil supplies tight.

* METALS: Copper prices edged down on Friday on worries about the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz, though losses were limited on news that peace talks between the U.S. and Iran could resume over the weekend.

* FTSE: The UK blue-chip index .FTSE ended 0.8% lower at 10,379.08 points on Friday. The benchmark index recorded its first weekly drop in five, erasing all gains since the U.S.-Iran ceasefire announcement earlier this month.
