UK Stocks-Factors to watch on April 8 (updated)

Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Wednesday with futures FFIc1 up 3.17%.

* SHELL: Shell SHEL.L
trimmed
 its first-quarter outlook for its integrated gas production, reflecting the impact of the Middle East conflict on volumes in Qatar.

* CLOSE BROTHERS: Close Brothers  CBRO.L said Britain's motor finance redress scheme will
cost
it 320 million pounds ($429.50 million), broadly in line with its existing provision.

* CAPRICORN ENERGY: Capricorn Energy CNE.L said the
deadline
 for Cafani Group-affiliated investment vehicle Alamadiyaf al-Masiyyah to make a formal takeover offer for the UK-based company has been extended by about a month until May 6.

* RENISHAW: Renishaw RSW.L said it has
appointed
 John Shipsey as its new chief financial officer and David Grant as permanent chairman.

* BP: Local suppliers stepped in to resolve a temporary jet fuel shortage at four Italian airports, three sources told Reuters on Tuesday. The four airports had last week alerted airlines to limited availability of jet fuel supplied by Air BP, the aviation division of BP BP.L, between April 2 and April 9.

* GAMMA COMMUNICATIONS: Gamma Communications GAMA.L said on Tuesday that it is in preliminary discussions with a number of interested counterparties for a potential sale.

* HOUSE PRICES: British house prices
slid
 unexpectedly last month as economic uncertainty stemming from the Iran war hurt buyer demand, mortgage lender Halifax said.

* COMMODITIES:
Oil
 fell below $100 per barrel on Wednesday, while
gold
 prices climbed to a near three-week high, and
copper
 prices rose to a three-week high as well.
