The Nasdaq outperformed peers on Friday as robust updates from Amazon.com and
Intel lifted beaten-down megacaps, while investors also drew comfort from data
that showed inflation rose largely in line with expectations.  .N 
    
    At 12:47 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.57% at
32,596.96. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.05% at 4,135.16 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was up 0.83% at 12,699.64.
